Playlab133 offers PS133 families high-quality after-school enrichment programming. Our classes activate students’ sense of wonder and self-discovery while students explore a variety of interests and make friends with students from other grades and programs across PS133.
Playlab133 is run by PS133's PTA and generates funds that are donated to the school to help fund arts programs for all students during school hours. It also helps fund other initiatives like lunch & recess support, teacher grants, and classroom libraries.
Enrichment class offerings range from athletics, movement, arts, STEM and much more! We also offer Play Lab Time for Prek-1st grade where students can play games, do arts & crafts, and sing-a-longs with playlab133 staff, or Homework Lab Time for 2nd to 5th graders, where playlab133 staff and volunteers provide basic homework help.
Children are picked up from their PS133 teachers at dismissal starting at 2:00 for the little ones and 2:20 for older ones., given a light snack and brought to their enrichment activities. All PreK-1 classes will have a trained instructor and a playlab133 counselor and all other classes will have a trained instructor a playlab133 counselor, only if needed.
Classes are primarily held onsite, with a few exceptions as noted on the schedule. playlab133 does NOT run when school is on break for holidays or on half days. There are enrichment classes available for Pre-K to 5th grade and offered in groups by grade levels. Not all classes can be offered for each grade due to limited space or the nature of the classes.
Pick-ups will start at 5:00PM and NO LATER THAN 5:30PM Monday through Friday. Students will need to be signed out by a caregiver included in the registration form. Parents will need to line up for a smooth pick up in the hallway starting outside of room 107, past the main office, towards the main entrance (Baltic).
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES exit through the BUTLER EXIT doors, since they are used as fire exits only.
